Parental Involvement

Community Partnership

At St Francis of Assisi, we believe that parents are the children’s first and most important teachers, and we encourage parents to have a strong partnership with our school.

There are a variety of opportunities for parents to be involved in our school. Some of these areas include, being a member and contributing to the Parents and Friends Committee, providing support in the classroom, participating in parent education workshops, and helping on working bees.

Parents are always welcome to volunteer to work with the teachers in various ways. The most supported parent volunteer programs have been excursions, fetes and sporting events. The St Francis community is always very appreciative of the work volunteer parents do for our school.

Families are also welcome to be involved in the religious and community life of our school. You are invited to attend special Masses and Liturgies, celebrations such as Catholic Schools Week, Grandparents Day and many other events throughout the school year.

Parents and Friends Group

The St Francis Parents and Friends Group meets twice a term at school. Every parent is encouraged to participate in the group’s activities, as often as possible.

One of the main functions of the group is to help raise funds for the extra resources we need. The Parent Group has always been supportive of all school activities and has worked with great generosity and enthusiasm, to ensure everything runs smoothly and successfully.
